11 Oct NEW: Completing Apprenticeship Commencements Wage Subsidy
To assist in building a pipeline of skilled trades people for the future infrastructure needs of the Nation, the Federal Government has just launched the Completing Apprenticeship Commencements Wage Subsidy.
This follows the highly successful Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements Wage Subsidy, whereby eligible employers are entitled to 50% of a new or recommencing apprentice’s wages (up to the amount of $7,000 per quarter) for 12 months.
After this initial 12 months of support, employers of eligible apprentices will be then transition into the Completing Apprenticeship Commencements program.
Under this program, employers will receive a:
- 10% wage subsidy for the for the Second Year of an eligible apprenticeship, up to a maximum of $1,500 per quarter;
- 5% wage subsidy for the for the Third Year of an eligible apprenticeship, up to a maximum of $750 per quarter.
